Since Medieval times there has always been a market here.Market Gardeners came from all over to sell their produce.My Great Granddad John Taylor was a market gardener who travelled from Swine Village along Holderness Road.In family legend he wittered his profits away in the King Edward pub on drink and his horse took him home on the cart at the end of the day!!
