Idle Reflection, Princes Quay

Medium: Oils on canvas

Original Size: 60 x 60

Mum was born in 1920 in a terrace off Dagger Lane.

As a teenager she went to Uncle Jack's house in Mytongate to practise on his piano.

Her Aunt Rebecca reserved the use of her piano for her daughter, Gladys.

Mum paid one shilling a lesson.

This scene of boats berthed in Princes Dock must have been familiar sight.

She walked over Mytongate Bridge to Uncle Jack's from Model Dwellings in Midland Street. This must have been regularly after school at Villa Place where she was Head Girl.
