Fishing for Eels, Princes Dock

Medium: Oils on Canvas

Original Size: 40 cm x 30 cm

Between the sheds and lorries you often caught sight of lads fishing for eels. They stretched on their bellies staring at the water and their bait hoping for an eel to nibble. This usually happened at the weekends when the docks were quiet. I imagine some became trawler men and dockers.
