Cracked pots

Medium: Oils on Board

Original Size:

This is a painting of a common place scene.

I wanted to convey to the onlooker's senses, the porous condition of the clay pots piled haphazardly on top of each other against the equally damp, lichen covered Victorian bricks.

Amongst all the decay, rich, dark green, diverse plants were thriving in the wet conditions.

I wanted my brush strokes to convey the smell of the rich loamy soil.
