This is the last of the working dry docks on the River Hull and it bears witness to a time when river trade was paramount in Hull’s economy.
I painted this picture because I loved the general untidiness and clutter of the workplace.
The site sits on the vestiges of a previous age which is still visible in the dock’s foundations.
I was also drawn to the beauty of the light on the buildings, wood and water in the summer afternoon.
